We're Back - Baby!

Happy Summer! Phew - It's been 2 years since we have welcomed a new litter of puppies here at Trojh - in the heart of West Grey, Ontario! Troy and I took a step back from the dog world, enjoying our kids - both human and dogs - at home. A lot can be said about stepping away from the craziness of the dog world. Our young dogs were maturing, both mentally and physically, while our kids were in the thick of it 'Sport' wise. We were spending a great amount of time in arenas throughout Ontario - where Carl is a fan favourite - and our dogs were enjoying that social aspect of life. With 4 boys actively in sports, Troy and I really couldn't justify me taking weekends off to attend dog shows in Ontario and Quebec. That said - We're young, we're talented - We love pedigrees and great dogs! English Springer Spaniel breeders are slowly retiring in Canada and the sport of dogs needs people like me to jump in with both feet - sort of speak! Early 2025 we welcomed what will now be known as our FINAL, FINAL Baby boy Larsen. By the way - he's human ;) An ambulance ride and stay in Londons Childrens Hopsital for delivery and NICU made for an interesting time but it also gave time to reflect on where I am, what I'm doing and of course - where I'm heading. Larsen and I arrived home March 11th - to Chalice at the peak of her season - which was quite disappointing as the plans I had to breed her were once again - placed on hold. I knew that Cheers would be soon to follow - and when she can in - was bred to Pawmarc's Missing Link. Puppies were born early morning Father's Day. A black and white girl and 4 liver and white boys. Larsen was the best boy and only required attention once throughout the night - who'd guess that would be my only stress while Cheers was delivering her babies! They're now 5 weeks and looking beautiful - We love them and cannot wait to see the adventures these puppies take their owners on. What's even more exciting - we have 2 returning families - who both own littermates from our 2020 litter! Handling classes here we come - Carl and Gary need a recap on what is expected in the ring before we head back to shows. Embarrassing ourselves at a dog show isn't on my 2025 bingo card! There are a few shows before end of year we plan on entering with some knowledgeable judges on the panels. We'll keep you posted on how we do! For now - This is my update - and Trojh English Springer Spaniels hopes that you continue to enjoy your summer!
